Our Courses

About us

Our courses are real-life adventures, and the excitingly unpredictable nature of a real expedition makes every course different. Unlike a guided, “adventure travel vacation”, this is YOUR adventure, and you’ll be a full participant in the course including planning and organizing the day. You can expect some “down-time” for hanging out and talking over lunch, but mostly you will be actively learning, doing, and moving. Rain or shine!

From bike maintenance to jumping and climbing, our course will take you through all the steps you need to become a skilled biker, ready to tackle anything!

Part 1: Bike Maintenance

Part 1 of the course will give you the basic knowledge to carry out trail-side repairs enabling you to keep riding. The course is a "hands on" instructional session, not a service workshop!

It will cover:

• removing the wheels
• repairing a puncture
• suspension set up & bike fit
• how to package a bike for transport

Part 2: Back to Basics

Part 2 of the course concentrates on the basics every rider needs to know to successfully navigate the trail.

It will cover:

• correct body position for confident riding
• understanding traction
• braking skills
• slow speed maneuvers
• clearing roots & small logs
• basic climbing & descending techniques
• introduction to singletrack & drop-offs

Part 3: Singletrack Skills

Part 3 of the course will take the skills we've developed in parts 1 and 2 and push them up to the next level!

It will cover

• steep technical climbs
• loose & tricky descents
• cornering techniques
• how to gain speed on singletrack
• steep drop-offs
• includes a personal analysis

We offer courses for mountain bikers of all levels, but we recommend that you participate in aerobic activities regularly before your course, and that you are able to ride your bike for an hour at a time. There will be frequent stops while you’re riding, but you should plan to be on your bike for most of the day.
